SWIM COACHING
Total Immersion
It is one thing to just get yourself from one end of the pool to the other, it is an artful skill to swim consecutive laps efficiently & effortlessly.
The style of swim coaching I apply is adopted from training in the Total Immersion program that dramatically improves swimming efficiency by developing or improving these skills:
I have had great success in using the Total Immersion training techniques with the entry level swimmer who wants to be able to swim for fitness;Masters Swimmers who want to improve their competitive swim times; entry level to competitive Triathletes who want an easier or faster open water swim time; Junior swimmers who are still trying to grasp the concept of swimming without getting so tired; & those with upper body joint problems that interfere with their enjoyment of swimming.
Swimming is so driven by skill & the efficiency with which you can move through the high drag environment of water. Unlike running where a mis-step doesn't effect your forward progress much, an inefficient body position or inefficient stroke in swimming has an exponential effect on your forward progress lap after lap costing you excess energy & time.
The drills that I apply from Total Immersion will take your swimming to a whole new level. I am constantly amazed at the progress that my clients achieve whether they are barely able to swim one lap across the pool or they are a competitive level swimmer. It is truly a great transformation!
Location
Most public pools do not allow outside coaches on deck but here in North Carolina I am able to use the Brunswick Community College indoor pool at the Dinah Gore Aquatics & Fitness center as I am also employed by them as a Personal Trainer.
I am also happy to coach at a private pool if available.
